Installation tips.
Before you begin, be sure to disconnect power to the room at the circuit breaker and assemble the necessary tools and equipment.
You don't need a lot of tools - just a screwdriver, a pair of wire strippers and some wire nuts.
It's also a good idea to wear a mask and goggles to protect your face from drywall debris and insulation.
During this step you should also find out if there is any electrical work to do - need to move the junction box or add a new one?
If you do, I recommend finding your fixtures first so you can get to the right spot.
This is especially true for things like island pendants and wall sconces.
